Richard Reaves has a male in the household a few years old than him living with them in 1840. Mary appears to have died between 1870 and 1880.Richard Reeves petitioned the Southern Claims Commission in 1871 for two mules, two horses, and two thousand pounds of bacon taken for the war effort by the US army under a Genl. Lucas on 21 Apr 1865.
There is an Alabama Confederate Pension record for Mary J./Nancy Reaves widow of Richard R. Reaves, filed from Crenshaw County, Alabama. Richard was a private in Co. H, 60th AL Infantry. She states their date of marriage was 13 Dec 1856. On 23 Nov 1916, Mary's age was 80y, 6m, 13d.
