Listed in the 1830 Johnston County NC census, 20-30 yrs old with wife 15-20 yrs and 2 male children 0-5 yrs.

William Reaves and his wife, Rachel are mentioned in the probate documents of her father, Benjamin Howell's estate, probated in Wayne County in September 1833.

From an undocumented source (presumably a family bible of unknown origin), Rachel Howell was born on 1 Jan 1810 and died on 7 Feb 1840. Her birth date does agree with what can be derived from census records for Benjamin Howell and his will. Benjamin Howell named nine daughters in his will with Rachel listed last possibly indicating that she was the youngest and from census records, his youngest daughter was born 1810-1820.

William and Rachel Reaves left North Carolina and moved to Chambers County, Alabama in 1838 where Rachel died in 1840.
