The 1820 Census of Surry County NC lists Jesse Reavis' household as including 2 males 10-15, 1 male 26-44, 3 females under 10 years of age, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 26-44.

The identity of this Jesse is currently unknown. He is too young to be Jesse, son of Edward Reavis and Sarah Gilliam, and too old to be Jesse Marshall Reavis, son of Jesse. Because of the use of the name Jesse, it may be possible that he also descends from Edward Reavis and Sarah Gilliam since Sarah's father was Jesse Gilliam and appears to be the source for the use of that given name which might indicate that he was the child of John Reavis.
