In 1841, Alfred was age 15, listed in the household of his parents William and Ann Reeve in Braintree, Essex.

In 1851, he was age 26, an Engineer living in St. Giles in the Fields in Middlesex with wife Diana (20) and son Gustavus (6m).

The birth registration for son Gustavus (listed as Gustaons in the index) lists mother's maiden name as Menzies. This matches a marriage record from St. Marylebone, All Saints in Middlesex:

In 1871, Alfred was age 45, born in Braintree, living in Woolwich, Kent with wife Dianah (41) and children William H. (16), Francis E (14), John A (11), Charles K. (9), Emma M. (2), and Robert H. (1).

In 1881, Alfred was age 54, born in Braintree, living in Woolwich, Essex with wife Diannah (51) and son Sims G. (7).

In 1891, Alfred was age 65, born in Braintree, living in Woolwich, London with wife Dana (61), and son Sims G. (17).

Alfred's death was registered 3q 1898 in Woolwich, London.
