The Samuel Lowe Bible record spells the name Lowe and it appears that way in most records in the US. However in English records, the name usually appeared as Law. The family Bible lists "Richard Sharp b. May 17, 1849" after all the children. On the 1855 NY state census, Samuel Lowe (59), his wife Ann (53) and their grandson Richard Sharp (6) are listed in Manlius, Onondaga County. The GRO Birth Index shows Richard Sharp registered 2q 1849 in Tenterden Union Registration District with mother's maiden name Law.

Tracing back further in English records, we find the family listed in Tenterden in the 1841 census with Samuel, age 40 along with Ann (35), John (15), and Ann (10).

Further confirmation to match these individuals are the two birth records of the two oldest children recorded in Tenterden Wesleyan records:

• John Reeve the son of Samuel Law of Tenterden in the Parish of Tenterden in the County of Kent Labourer and of Ann his wife who was the daughter of John and Susanna Reeve was born on the thirteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four. And was solemnly baptized with water, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, on the twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four by me
• Mary Ann the daughter of Samuel Law of Tenterden in the Parish of Tenterden in the County of Kent Labourer and of Ann his wife, who was the daughter of John and Susanah Reeve was born on the tenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven And was solemnly baptized with water, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, on the eighteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven by me Joseph Robinson

Marriage from Tenterden, St Mildred, Kent Parish Registers:

• Samuel Law of this Parish Bachelor and Ann Reeves of this Parish spinster were married in this Church by Banns with consent of all parties this eleventh Day of April in the Year one thousand eight hundred and twenty two. By me John R Coombre Vicar

Note that the family Bible states they married "Apr. 10, 1821 in England." This is a year and a day off.
