Research Notes

Saffron Walden is just to the east and south of Little Chesterford.

The name Bennet and Benedict (Latin Benedictus) are related and appear sometimes to have been used interchangeably.

Son Thomas may be Thomas Reeve from nearby Arkesden and Wendens Ambo. He named a son Richard Kent Reeve. Bennedict's sister Ann was married to Richard Kent.

The following entries are from the Great Chesterford Parish Registers and may concern this Bennet:
  • Ann the Daughter of Bennet Reeve & Ann his wife was baptized the 24: of June (1750)
  • John the son of Bennet & Ann Reeve was Bapt May 10th (1752)

There was another Bennet Reeve whose children appear later in the Great Chesterford registers.
