Children of Silas H. Clark and Esther Reeve:- Mary H. Clark, b. c1844, m. F. Asbury Tuthill
Times Union (Brooklyn, New York), 5 Oct 1901
Mrs. Esther Clark, one of Mattituck’s oldest citizens, died last Sunday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. Asbury Tuthill, in the eighty-third year of her age. She had been a widow for nearly fifty years, her husband, Silas H. Clark, having died in 1852, leaving her with four little children. She bravely met her responsibilities, and lived to see her children’s children, and her children’s children’s children. She was laid to rest beside the husband of her youth, in the old burying ground, amid her ancestors or six generations.
The day of her burial, Tuesday last, was the ninetieth birthday of her sister, Mrs, Bethiah Cox. Mrs. Cox is now the only survivor of the ten children of Benjamin and Joanna (Corwin) Reeve. Like many or her ancestors in the Reeve, Corwin, Hubbard and Mapes families, she lives to see a good, old age. Her mind is clear and active, her sight and hearing remarkably good, and she is dearly loved and cherished by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren great-great-grandchildren, and by hosts of friends.
