On the 1841 census Henry is recorded as 35 living in Belchamp Walter, Essex with his wife Clara and children Elizabeth (14), Mary (12) Susan (9) Samuel (6) and John (1).

In 1851 Henry is 44 and still living in Belchamp Walter with his wife Clarissa and children Elizabeth (26), Susan (19), Samuel (16), John (11), Henry (6) and Sarah (2). It states he was born in Tilbury.

In 1861 Henry is still in Belchamp Walter with his wife Clara and children: Samuel (26), Henry (16) and Susan (12).

By 1871 Henry had moved to Chapel Hill, Belchamp Walter with his wife Clara and daughter Sarah (22). Also resident was their lodger William Cutler (20) Agricultural Laborer. This census states he was born in Belchamp Otten.

In 1881 Henry and his wife were living at 3 Southend Road, Rich Cottages with their daughter Sarah and husband William Cutler. This census states he was born in Tilbury.

By 1891 Henry is 84, widowed and living with his widowed daughter Mary Halls in Romford, Essex. This census states he was born in Belchamp Otten.

Also recorded on the 1841 Census is a Samuel Reeve, Agricultural Laborer aged 30 living with his wife Elizabeth and children Elizabeth (13), William (11), Thomas (9), Samuel (7) and Joseph (4). Based on census records it is probable that this was Samuel Reeve b. 1811
