  3. James Reeve
  4. Parnel Reeve, b. c1786
  5. Therziah/Keziah Reeve, b. c1790
  6. Edmund Reeve, b. c1792
  7. Hannah Reeve
  8. Anna Reeve

James's son Jesse is mentioned in the will of his brother Daniel.

This appears to be the James Reeve listed in Paul Reeve's Southold Militia Company:
  • James Reeve, 5 ft. 6, dark, age 24.

The marriage of James and Parnel was recorded at Mattituck Pres:
  • James Reeve ye Son of Tho R. | Parnel Howell | June 24, 1779

The following baptisms pertain to this family:
  • Keziah Reeve | James & Parnel | June 20, 1790
  • Edmon Reeve | James | March 24, 1793
  • Hannah Reeve | James (dec'd) & Parnel | Nov 1, 1807
  • Anna Reeve | James (dec'd) & Parnel | Nov 1, 1807

James appears in the 1800 census living next to Richard Hallock who is mentioned in his will. Earlier in 1790, he also appears to be living next to several Hallock families.

James died 13 Aug 1807, age 56 according to his headstone. He was buried at Mattituck Pres Church. The church records also record his death:
  • James Reeve | Aug 13, 1807

James wrote his will on 29 Jul 1807 and it was proved 7 Oct 1807. He mentions his wife Parnel and "my Eight children namely Livinia, Jesse, James, Parnel, Therziah, Edmund, Hannah and Anna."

Parnel died 4 Nov 1828 according to her headstone. However church records state the following:
  • 1828 Nov 3 The mother of Jesse Reeve (Parnel) east northside c. member

Research Notes

Some of the above children were formerly attributed to James Reeve who married Parnel Wickham. Clarification comes from this James's will which names his children.

The daughter Therziah mentioned in the will would seem to be the same one baptized as Keziah.
