JAMES M. REEVE
Son James W. Reeve, pioneer of DeKalb County citizen of Cross Keys District. He was born Nov. 16, 1836. He lost his right arm by a fall of a horse at the age of 6 years. Married Jeanette Adele Goodwin, and about 1862 moved to Calhoun GA where he was a farmer and a bkkpr (bookkeeper) for Veach's Flour Mills. He was also clerk of the Gordon County Superior Court for some time. Died May 4, 1886 and is buried in the Fain Cemetery at Calhoun, GA. (Mrs. Samuel G. Walker, daughter (3/16/1933)
Research Notes
While many of the descendants of this family consistently recorded their surname as Reeve until after around 1850 when they began to use the more common Reeves with two e's; however, James M. Reeves appears to have maintained the original surname of Reeve.Sources
