His widow Mary is found living on East Street, St. James, Essex in 1841, age 25, born in county. With her are Eliza Bacon (15) and John Reeve (6). His mother Rebecca was also in St. James, Essex in 1841, age 60, born out of county. Son William is listed in the household of George Garland in 1851 on East Street, St. James, Essex. He is listed as age 20, a seaman born in London, Middlesex. George Garland is named as the guardian of the two sons in John's will.

Notice to Debtors & Creditors
All Persons having any Claim or Demand upon the Estate and Effects of John REEVE, late of East Street, Colchester, in the county of Essex, deceased, are requested forthwith to deliver an account thereof to me, or to Mr. EDWARD CLAY, of North Hill, Colchester, or to Mr. GEO. GARLAND, of East Street, Colchester, the Executors of the said John Reeve, in order that the same may be discharged. And all persons who were indebted to the said John Reeve, at the time of his decease, are requested to pay the amount thereof to me or the said Executors, within One Month from the date hereof.
