From the Mundon, St. Mary, Essex Parish Register:
  • Joseph Reeve of the parish of Bocking, Bachelor and Amy Blakely of this parish Spinster married in this Church ly Licence this fifth Day of November in the Year One Thousand eight Hundred and five by me W Cranes Minister

Joseph wrote his will on 1 Jun 1811. He mentions among others:
  • my dear wife Amy
  • my two children Sarah and Joseph
  • my farm and lands containing about two hundred acres situate and being at High Garrett in the parish of Bocking in the County of Essex aforesaid and now in the occupation of William Michael Reeve
  • my sister Elizabeth Moore wife of Samuel Moore

The reference in his will to his sister Elizabeth Moore and to High Garrett in Bocking shows that this is the son of Michael Reeve.

Joseph is buried at Woodham Ferrers, St. Mary and has a plaque which reads "Sacred to the memory of Joseph Reeve Esqr late of Champions in this Parish, who died Octr the 7th 1811, Aged 27 Years."

  • 1811. Reeve. Joseph son of Joseph & Amy born November 30th 1809 Baptizd April 1st 1811
  • 1811. Reeve Joseph October 14th (burial)

Widow Amy Reeve remarried to John Deeley in 1826. There is a London marriage allegation which lists her as of Little Wakering in Essex and John of Rawreth in Essex dated 10 Jul 1826. She was buried on 22 Jan 1859 at Woodham Ferrers.

DEELEY Amy. Effects under £800. 17 December. The Will of Amy Deeley late of Barling in the County of Essex Widow deceased who died 15 January 1859 at Barling aforesaid was proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of Joseph Reeve of Barling aforesaid Farmer the Son and the sol Executor.
