In 1788, Nehemiah and his wife Ruth of Evesham, Burlington County sold land to Samuel Mullen which had been defined agreeable to a quit claim between Micajah Reeve, father of Nehemiah, and Jeremiah Haines. Macajah had bought the land from Samuel Reeves in 1759.
Burlington Misc Probate records include administration papers where Ruth was granted administration on 21 May 1799. It also includes an account taken by "Ruth Smiley late Ruth Reeves Administratrix." The Will Records file includes an inventory appraised by Abraham Reeves. Abraham also was on the administration bond in the same file. Thus it appears Nehemiah's brother Abraham was still living in 1799.
There is a power of attorney to John Murdock by heirs of Ruth Smiley. The grantors are listed as James Holland & Hannah (late Reeves) of Ohio, Joab Reeves & Mary (late Reeves), William Daniell & Rachel (late Reeves), Nehemiah & Elizabeth Reeves of Philadelphia, Joseph Dennis & Rutha Ann of Philadelphia. Sarah wife of John Murdock is also said to be a daughter. Oddly, it later lists Joab Reeves instead of Mary as a child of Ruth Smiley. This is incorrect.
