Samuel and his wife Mary appear to be deforciants in a concord relating to property in Stock and Writtle dated 1816.
The Essex County Standard, etc., 15 Oct 1831
On the 4th inst., at Roxwell, by the Rev. John Fortescue, Mr. Samuel Reeve, jun., of the Hands Farm, Writtle, to Maria, second daughter of Mr. Joseph Abbott, of Roxwell.
In 1841, Samuel was living in Writtle, Essex, age 70, born in Essex, with Mary Reeve (65), Mary Reeve (35), John Reeve (30), Sarah Reeve (35), and Elizabeth Poulton (15).
The Chelmsford Chronicle, 16 Jul 1841
15th inst. much respected, Mr. Samuel Reeve, of the Hands Farm, Writtle, aged 74.
In 1851, Mary Reeve, age 79, was living in Writtle, Essex, with daughters Mary A. (48) and Sarah (46) and servants Ann Carmon (21) and William Lawrence (30).
The 1851 census states the daughters were born at Writtle. The 1861 census states they were born in Roxwell.
Research Notes
This is probably the son or close relative of Joseph Reeve of Writtle. This is likely also the nephew Samuel Reeve of Writtle mentioned in the will of John Reeve of Writtle from 1808.Sources
