Walter Reeve is found in Southold in 1850, age 84. With him are Louisa A. Terry, Edna J. Conklin, and Preston Raynor.

Walter Reeve of Southold wrote his will on 3 Jul 1850 and it was proved 6 May 1851. In it he mentions the following individuals:
  • my grand daughter Maria Peney
  • my grandson William Reeve son of my son Joshua Reeve
  • my grandson David Harvey Corwin son of my daughter Nancy Corwin
  • my sister Bethia Peney
  • my niece Louisa A Peney daughter of my sister Bethia Penney
  • my Daughter Nancy Corwin and my Daughter Elizabeth Tuthill
  • my friends Henry Landon and Oliver Cory

The probate also mentions "affidavit of Charles A. Reeve, a son of Ansel Reeve of Brookhaven, one of the heirs at law...father was sick & unable to attend."

There is a headstone for Ency Reeve, wife of Walter Reeve, in the same cemetery which states she died 23 Jul 1844. It's not clear if this was the same as Deliverance or a second wife.

Research Notes

This is probably the son or a close relative of an older Walter Reeve from Southold.
