From Purleigh, All Saints, Essex Parish Register:
  • (1679) October 19..Willm the sonn of Wm & Lyddy Reevs? was Baptized
  • (1679/80) Marty 8 Wm Reave son of Wm Reave was buryed & Affidavit was made to Mr Phillip Rallings by his father

Note that the same woman, Sarah Downs, made affidavit for the burial of the twins and Lydia, the wife of William. This likely indicates the twins were children of William and Lydia.

Research Notes

There are further references to a William and Sarah in Purleigh having a daughter Sarah baptized in Feb 1690/1. This could mean William remarried.

This William is probably the brother of Robert Reeve whom he mentions in his will as living in Purleigh.
