DEATH OF A.D. REEVES
A. D. Reeves, aged 52 years, a well-known and prominent citizen of this city, died after a brief illness at the Spiceland sanitarium Tuesday morning a 1:30 o'clock of cerebrospinal meningitis. Mr. Reeves went to the sanitarium on Wednesday of last week at noon from his home in this city, and when he arrived there he was suffering much bodily pain and had a high fever.
His death was so sudden that it came before many of his most intimate friends knew anything about him being even sick. Great big, strong man that he was, the very picture of health and physical manhood, none of his acquaintances thought the end of his earthly career was so near at hand.
Besides his wife two children are left, a son and a daughter, Foy Reeves and Mrs. Will Havens, of New Castle, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral, which was largely attended, was held at his late home, corner of Washington and Warrick streets yesterday (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock , conducted by Rev. E. S. Conner, of Indianapolis. Deceased was a member of the Knightstown lodge Mo. 226, K. of P and the funeral obsequies were in charge of the order. His bereaved family and friends have the sympathy of a large circle of acquaintances.
Buried in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown, Henry County, Indiana.
Research Notes
