The 1830 census of Sangamon County, Illinois lists Alexander's household as containing 1 male 10-14, 1 male 30-39, 2 females under 5, 3 females, 5-9, 1 female 10-14, 1 female 15-19 and 1 female 30-39.

And in the 1840 census, Alexander's household includes 1 male 40-49, 2 females 5-9, 1 female 10-14, 2 females 15-19 and 1 female 30-39.

Research Notes

Except for Ellen and Maranda who were listed in Alexander Reeves' 1830 household, the other named daughters are based solely on marriage records. There were no other Reeves/Reaves families living in Sangamon County, Illinois from 1830 to 1850 which suggests that these Reeves' females who married there throughout the 1840s were the daughters of Alexander Reeves. Records of the Church of Latter Day Saints identify Maranda Jane Reeves as being the child of Alexander Reeves and Effy Cummins which indicates that she lived until at least 1841.
