TARDY NEWS OF HEROES' DEATH JUST RECEIVED
...
Casualty lists issued by the War Department yesterday carried the names of two more San Francisco boys, Corporal Emanuel E. Rosenthal and Private Alfred V. Reeves, who gave their lives in the great Argonne offensive. Both succumbed to wounds the day they were wounded.
...
Private Reeves' case was similar to that of Rosenthal's. The War Department, on February 3, reported to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Reeves, 3268 Twenty-fourth street, that their son had been wounded October 9, 1918. Further efforts to trace his whereabouts were fruitless. Yesterday the advice was received that he had died on the same date that he was wounded. Reeves was a member of the 361st Infantry.
According to records of the American Battle Monuments Commission, he was buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery in France.
