The 1800 census indicates he had one son and one daughter under 10.

Asa is on a ship list for a Brigantine called Betsey, with Timothy Ropes master. Asa is listed as entering 11 Nov 1800 and discharged 4 Apr 1801 for an employment time of 4 months, 23 days for 95 cents pay.

In 1801, Asa and his wife Hannah, along with some other Symonds heirs deeded some land to Henry Rust, Jr. In 1810, they signed over land they inherited as heirs of James Symonds.

Asa is included in a ship crew list from 1808 with Brig. Marthia Epheraim Symonds Master. The ship was bound from Salem, Massachusetts to the West Indias. Asa is listed as a seaman, resident of Salem, five feet three inches tall, light complexion and 39 years old.

He was on another list from 1833 or 1834 under a crew of Brig. Genl. Warren, mastered by Benj. Chapman bound for the West Indies. Asa was listed as born in Salem, resident thereof, and age 65, and 5 feet 2 3/4 inches tall.

Salem City Directory lists him living at 38 Broad (St.) in 1837 as a labourer.

Vital Records for Massachusetts include an item from the Salem Gazette reporting the death of Asa Reeves on 26 Jan 1837, age 69.

Abigail, wife of Asa, was buried 17 Jul 1860, age 76
