Benjamin F. Reeves enlisted as a private in Co. L of the 10th Regiment of Kentucky Cavalry of the Union Army during the Civil War. Military records show that he was a teamster and was captured at Mt. Sterling, Kentucky in March of 1863 and also paroled there at the same time.
