Narrative
Bertie Charles Samuel Reeves was born in November 1884 at 21 Longcroft Street, Southampton, Hampshire. He was sixth of thirteen children born to Samuel Reeves and his wife Matilda. He was the first boy after five girls, and was therefore made a fuss of.1891 census shows Bertie and his parents have moved to 14 Longcroft Street, and are living with his Grandparents, Samuel Reeves and Mary Reeves (nee Harrison).
They are still living at the same address in the 1901 census, when Bertie is 16 and working as a Gas fitter. His Grandfather Samuel is now a widower age 76.
In April 1908 Bertie married Florence FLATHER at the Parish Church of St. Mary and they had one child, Bertie James, born February 1909 and they were living in Radcliffe Road.
In the 1911 census, Bertie, wife Florence and son Bertie were living with Florence's step father James Forder, in Bevois Street, Southampton.
His wife Florence died at 21 Melbourne Street, in Sept. 1938 age 55.
Bertie married again in October 1941 at Southampton Registry Office, but he died in November 1943.
