Narrative
The Brooklyn Daily Times, 15 Oct 1906FUNERAL OF CHARLES REEVES.
Mourned by Many Friends in Greenport - Deep Sympathy for Hon. Henry A. Reeves.
GREENPORT, Oct. 15. - The funeral of Charles Reeves, brother of the Hon. Henry A. Reeves, who died at his home in this village, Saturday morning, took place yesterday afternoon. It was one of the largest funerals held in Greenport in a long time, the fire companies parading in uniform out of respect to their deceased brother. Mr. Reeves was about 65 years of age, and was well known throughout the village, where he had lived many years and where he had been in active charge of the Republican Watchman during the absence of his brother. He was a bachelor and always made his home with his brother, Henry A. Reeves, the veteran editor of Long Island, and the dean of Suffolk County Democracy. By his death Editor Reeves loses the last member of the family, and great sympathy is felt for him in his affliction.
