Charles's death record names his parents as James and Catherine Reeves. Oddly the transcription states his father was born in Canada and mother in New Jersey. The 1880 census says his father was born in Nova Scotia.

Daughter Charlotte's death record states her mother's name as Eliza Courtney, this connection this Charles to the marriage from 1827.
