Research Notes

From the GRO Index of Births
  • The birth of Frederick REEVS (sic) was recorded in the Cuckfield Registration District during 2q1839 with mother's maiden name of DAWS (sic).
  • The birth of daughter Frances REEVES was recorded in the same district during 2q1841 with mother's maiden name of DAWES.
  • The birth of son Robert REEVES was recorded in the same district during 4q1843 with mother's maiden name of DAWS (sic)
An English birth registration for daughter Sarah Ann Reeves has not yet been identified, which might suggest the family emigrated in the period between the baptism of son Robert (Oct 1843) and the birth of Sarah.
The baptismal register for Twineham also lacks an entry for Sarah in the period 1845-46 (pages 52 & 53) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-D1QW-RQF and 1846-47 (pages 54 & 55) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-D1QW-5X8
