Elbert appears to have married a widow Elizabeth Phillips who already had some children.
Eli Reeves was next to Nathan Bumpus on the 1830 census. Later, Nathan and Elizabeth Bumpus sold land to Caroline Reeves, wife of Elbert Reeves. Caroline's maiden name was Bumpus so Nathan was likely her father. This evidence points to Elbert being a son of Eli.
