Narrative
Little is known of Elijah Reeves aside from his birth recorded in the Revolutionary War Pension application of his father, Daniel Reeves. He was listed on the 1811 tax list of Davidson County, Tennessee along with his father, Daniel and brothers James and Elisha.
Elijah was not mentioned in the 1824 will of his father Daniel Reeves which may be an indication that he was deceased by that time. However, since Daniel only mentioned his wife and daughters in that will and none of his sons, it may just be that he had given them their legacies before his death as was often common.
This may Elijah Reeves who shows up in Lauderdale County, Alabama in 1830. The ages and genders of wife and children match the 1820 census fairly well. Elijah appears in a number of Lauderdale County deed records in 1834.
