Narrative
Emily is the eighth known child of Samuel & Mary.In addition to her baptism in Eling, Emily has been identified on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census returns.
On the 1841 census, she is a 6 year old, shown with her parents and five other siblings at Staplewood Farm, Marchwood in the Parish of Eling, Hampshire.
On the 1851 census she is recorded as Emley (sic) Reeves, working as a housemaid for Thomas Martelli, Curate of Marchwood.
By April 1861 she is working in Mathern, Monmouthshire as an under nurse for the family of Robert Vaughan Hughes. He is described as a "Curate without the cure of souls and as a Landed Proprietor", so continuing her 1851 employment trend of working for the clergy.
Emily has NOT been found on 1871 or subsequent census returns. It is possible she married, although no strongly matching entry has been found on FreeBMD, but it is more probable her death is recorded by the Death Registration in Chepstow Registration District (which included Mathern) in 1q1869 age 35.
