Probable child of Ephraim Reeves and S. H. Chauman:

1. John Reeves, b. c1800

Although the Rowan County book of marriages lists no name for the bride of Ephraim Reeves in 1798, other marriage records do list his spouse as S H Chauman.

In the 1800 census of Salisbury District, Rowan County NC, Ephraim Reeves is recorded as the head of a household which contained himself and a wife, both 26--44 years of age and one male child under 5 years old.

The next residence to that of Ephraim Reeves in 1820 is a John Reeves who is 16-25 years of age. Although there is no absolute proof, this is undoubtedly the male child listed in the 1800 census in Ephraim's household.
