Ezra was age 15 living in the household of William and Elizabeth Herthy? in 1850 in Scott, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
In 1860, he was age 25 living in the household of John Burrier in Scranton.
By 1870, he had moved to Harmony in Susquehanna County. He was age 37 and living with him are wife Sarah J. and children Irvins (7) and Mary E. (5).
In 1880, he was in Carbondale, Lackawanna County, age 46, with wife Sarah J. (44) and children Irvin (17), Mary E. (14), and George (5).
In 1900, he was still in Carbondale, age 67. The census notes his father was born in New Jersey. With him are wife Sarah J. (64) and son George (25), George's wife Estella (24), and a granddaughter Lizzie M. Myers (14).
In 1910, Ezra and Sarah were living in the household of their son George in Carbondale. On this census both of Ezra's parents are listed as born in Pennsylvania.

Ezra Reeves, of Carbondale, and niece, Nellie Winters, of Mill City, were the guests of Adam Menger's family. The Reeves family were one of the earliest settlers in this place.
Note that Ezra is probably the brother of Sylvester A. Reeves who married a Menger. Both Ezra and Sylvester were born in Yatesville.

DEATH CLAIMS AGED RESIDENT
Ezra Reeves Died at the Home of His Son, George B. Reeves on Belmont Street.
Ezra Reeves, a resident of this city for the past forty years, and a well known and respected resident, passed away yesterday afternoon at the home of his son, George B. Reeves, of No. 69 Belmont street. Mr. Reeves had been in failing health for some time, but it is believed that the intense heat of the past few days had the effect of hastening the end. Deceased was a native of Yatesville and was eighty-four years of age. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and always displayed a keen interest in all its activities. Besides his son, George B., he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Hiram Myers, of No. 31 Gilbert street.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon. Services will be conducted at the Reeves home on Belmont street at 2:30 o'clock and interment will be made in Maplewood cemetery.

CARBONDALE, Aug 1 - The funeral of the late Ezra Reeves was held from the home of his son, George B. Reeves, of 69 Belmont street, this afternoon and was attended by a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives.
Services were conducted at the home by Captain William Fox, of the Salvation Army, at 3 o'clock, after which interment was made in Maplewood cemetery.
