Narrative

This is the first ancestor of whom I have no personal information, having died 43 years before I was born. My father told me that his spouse, Georgianne (Sprinkle) was an angry woman. As a child, he was afraid of her. My aunt told me that she was of some native American ancestry, but I kind of doubt that. I think it is far more likely that her family name is a variation of the German Spraenkle, or some such spelling. I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that during Francis and Georgianne's lives land (maybe in Oklahoma) was being deedrd to people who could prove native American ancestry. Possibly Georgianne claimed such in an effort to get a government gift. Just speculation.
