There is also an Opal V. Miller listed as their "daughter" on the 1910 Federal Census, Cooke County, TX. Adopted? There is a transcription error on Ancestry.com listing her age as 8 years. Actually, it is 8/12.

On the 1940 Federal Census, Cooke County, TX, Mary Alice is listed as Mary and indicates they have been married 29 years (1911). Living next door is a 'Fannie Holcombe, age 71' - most likely the mother of Mary Alice. On adjacent properties are Ernest and Robert.
