Narrative
The only known information concerning this George Reeves comes from a single census entry, from 1851. And little of that can presently be corroborated elsewhere.Neither the HGS indices nor FamilySearch list a baptism for a George Reeves in Eling in or around 1828. It is possible George may have been illegitimate or his mother widowed and subsequently remarried. The first Reeves baptism at Eling around this time is James (aka Israel), son of Samuel & Matilda, in November 1830.
This George has not been found with certainty on the 1841 census. He might be the 12 year old boy living in the household of George Reeves and Mary in Romsey Extra, but there is presently nothing to support this link.
From the 1851 census return we have him living as a Lodger in the house of widowed Harriett Isaacs. There is presently no known connection between Harriett Isaacs and any local Reeves family. George gives his occupation as Engineer's Labourer.
George has not been identified on subsequent census returns.
