In a statement given for a petition for naturalization in 1842, George Reeves stated he was a resident of Bethlehem, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, a native of England, and age 50 years "or thereabouts." In another statement, given in 1844, he stated that he came to the United States in 1819.
Although the 1850 census states George was born in New Jersey, both of his sons' 1880 census entries state the father was born in England.
Letters of Administration were granted to William C. Reeves and J. C. Reeves or George Reeves's estate on 27 Apr 1858.
Sylvester is buried next to George. Margaret was born December 26, 1795, died August 18, aged 74y, 9m, 22d.
