I first found George W. Reeves living with his father William, mother Nancy, and sister Polly Ann on the 1850 Census for Dekalb County Alabama. They are listed at Rives on that census. By 1860, George W, his mother Nancy, and sister Polly Ann are found living with the family of Daniel & Mary Reeves (Relationship unknown) also located in Dekalb County Alabama. George W. Reeves married Mary Jane Fagan/Figgins on 4 April 1867, in Etowah County, Alabama

George W. Reeves and Mary Jane Fagan had the following known children

Research Notes

The marriage record of George W. Reeves and Mary Fagan in Etowah County AL on 4 April 1867 incorrectly lists Mary's surname as Figgins.

George W. Reeves and mother Nancy Reeves are witnesses in the pension application of Delilah Jane Broyles Hooper for her husband Isaac Hooper. Their witness affidavit from April and July of 1883 states they are residents of Elora, Lincoln County, TN
George W. Reeves enlisted in the 1st Ala Vidette Calvary on 10 Jan 1864. He enlisted on the same day and in the same location as Isaac Hooper. The witness statements of George and his mother Nancy indicate that they had a close family relationship with Isaac Hooper and Delilah Broyles even knowing them before Isaac and Delilah married. They were also present at the birth of Delilah's children.
