Captain Harris Reeves was laid away to rest Friday afternoon in the Friends' burying-ground at Port Elizabeth, the town where was born and spent about sixty-five years of his life. The funeral services were held at his daughter's, Mrs. Thomas Troth's, at Millville. It was the largest funeral that has taken place there for some time.
Captain Reeves never had any sickness until his last. His eyesight never failed him; he read the finest writing and never wore glasses. He was a sea captain thirty-five years and has been shipwrecked several times. He leaves seven children and one sister, who is in her 90th year. He was very much respected by all who knew him and was widely known for his great generosity and kindness.
