Narrative

No information regarding Henry Reeves is known beyond the mention of him in the probate documents pertaining to the estate of his father, the third Henry Reeves and the 1747 deed for a lot in Tappahannock which is probably this Henry Reeves.

Henry may have been above the age of fourteen when his father died since it does not appear that a guardian was appointed for him as it was for his siblings John and Elizabeth. [Essex County VA WB 11 p 362-363]     He is known to have been born after 1727 based upon a statement in the will of Henry Reeves that his son Henry had not yet reached the age of 18.

It is possible that he is the same individual who was party to a 1747 deed by William Beverley and William Daingerfield two of the Feoffees in Trust acting on behalf of the County of Essex in the establishment of the new town of Tappahannock. One Henry Reeves purchased the half acre Lot #37 on the 16th of June 1747. [DB 24 p. 146-147]
