Israel is the second fourth known child of James Reeves and his wife Ann (mnu but probably Barnes).

He was baptised at the Parish Church of All Saints Dibden Hampshire on 31 December 1815

Israel married Harriet Whitcher SPARKS during the first quarter of 1841 in the New Forest Registration District, their marriage is recorded in the March 1841 registers, and their first son Alexander was baptised on 1 April 1841.

The known children of James and Harriet are

2. Charlotte Reeves
3. Sarah Reeves
4. William Reeves
5. Elizabeth Harriet Reeves
6. Fanny Reeves

Israel has not yet been found on the 1841 census, although his wife Harriette (sic) and 2 month old son Alexander have been found. (HO107, Piece 0399, Book 18, Folio 3r, Page 5). Where was he?

Israel and Harriet have been identified on the 1851 census return. Israel appears as a widower on the 1861 census with his two youngest children.

On the 1871 census he is lodging with Gains & Margaret PECKHAM (no family link currently known).

By the 1881 census, he is residing in the New Forest Union Workhouse at Eling.

His age is consistent across the 1851 to 1881 census returns.

Israel's death is recorded in the New Forest Registration District in the fourth quarter of 1888, when his age is given as 72
