He is living in his parents, Peachy Harrison Reeves and Mary Catherine Neff Reeves home. His siblings Robert, William, and Mary are also listed. Jacob's father, Peachy, occupation is that of a teamster. In colonial times a teamster was a laborer who drove a team of draft horses, oxen, or mules attached to a cart or wagon to haul cargo, freight, and supplies.

1884- West Virginia, U.S., Compiled Marriage Records, 1863-1900 has an entry dated 9 Nov 1884 in Ritchie County, West Virginia, for the marriage of Jacob T Reeves and Charlotte E Allen. Their son, Walter was born in 1886 and their daughter Marguerite was born in 1896.

The marital classification of widower indicates that Charlotte died prior to the 1910 census since divorce was rare and no records for Charlotte are found. His son Walter, age 24 and daughter Marguerite, age 17 are still living at home.
