James, the son of William Reeves and Sarah was baptised at the Parish Church of Our Lady, Warnford, Hampshire on 15 February 1818. His age and place of birth are consistent across multiple census returns, excepting 1881.

James married Mary Ann MARTIN, the daughter of a William MARTIN on 9 September 1847 at the Parish Church of St Mary, South Stoneham, Hampshire.

They appear without children on successive census returns and there is no known issue.
