James E. Reeves was a lieutenant in Co. C, 8th Cavalry Regiment of New York who died 10 Jun 1863 at Semy General Hospital Georgetown, Washington D C. He was wounded at Beverly Ford, Virginia the previous day. Muster Roll abstracts state that he enlisted 10 Sep 1861 from Palmyra. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant 28 Jan 1863.
