Miss Mary Elizabeth White, daughter of Mrs. Mary Belle White, 1807 Rosborough Springs Rd., became the bride of James Travis Reeves of Henderson, formerly of DeBerry, in a ceremony performed Wednesday evening in Carthage.
Mr. and Mrs. Reeves will go to Nashville, Tenn., on their honeymoon, after which they will make their home in Henderson.
Mr. Reeves will be remembered as a pitcher for the Marshall Comets. He is now playing with the Henderson Oilers.
The death certificate notes that he died from a plane crash that occurred on 31 Jul 1964 but was found on 2 Aug 1964.

Wednesday Rites Scheduled For Country Singer

CARTHAGE, Tex. - Funeral services for Jim Reeves, country and Western singing star who died in an airplane crash Sunday near Nashville. Tenn., will be held here Wednesday.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. in Central Baptist Church auditorium with Dr. V. L. McKee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be near Liberty Chapel Church. 2 1/2 miles from Carthage.
Joint services for Reeves and his pianist, Dean Manuel, who also died in the crash, were scheduled today at Nashville.
Reeves, whose climb in the entertainment field began in earnest after an arm injury ended his budding career as a baseball pitcher, was co-owner with Tom Perryman of the radio station he first worked at as an announcer. KGRI in Henderson.
After several years at Henderson, he moved to a station in Shreveport. La., and joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1956. He had recently appeared on the Jimmy Dean television program and one of his most recent albums was a collection of romantic ballads.
Survivors include his widow; three sisters, Mrs. Virgie Thomas of Shreveport. La: Mrs. Louise McNeese of Houston, and Mrs Ivy Sikes of Logansport. La.: two brothers, O. D. Reeves of DeBerry, and G. B. Reeves of Dallas; and his mother, Mrs. Beulah Reeves of DeBerry.
