John Wilson was born in Green County, Kentucky. In 1810 he moved to the St Francis River in the Territory of Missouri. He and Jane married 14 Nov 1816 in the Territory of Missouri. On 16 Oct 1817, then relocated to the Big Red River (now in Hempstead County, Arkansas), where in 1818 their eldest child Esther was born there.
Jane outlived her husband John Wilson. In his 1869 probate papers in Hempstead County, she is named as "widow and heir", but probably just to her dower third, as all nine living children are named and have payment vouchers in the probate packet. Their son Thomas Franklin Wilson was the administrator.
Note: Former President Bill Clinton is a descendant of this couple through their daughter Clarinda who married Martin Adams in Hempstead County, Arkansas on 31 Oct 1839.
