This may be the Jess Reeves of the same age from Arkansas who served in the Confederacy during the Civil War in Fristoe's Cavalry Regiment, N-Z, Hunter's Cavalry Regiment, Jackman's Cavalry Regiment and Lawther's Partisan Rangers.

A Jessee Reeves about 57 years old and born in Tennessee is recorded in Prescott, Yavapai County, Arizona on a voter registration of 1 Nov 1880. There is currently nothing to document Jessee's migration to Arizona but it does warrant research.

Research Notes

Although Jessee Reeves is previously unidentified, he is likely the brother of William Reeves who was recorded as born in Ashe County NC and who appears to have been a member of the extended family of George Reeves, Sr.. A descendant of William's Y-DNA matches that of other descendants of George Reeves, Sr..

In the 1850 census of Bennetts Bayou of Fulton County, Arkansas Jessee Reeves and his young family is living in the next residence to William Reeves. Oddly, each household contains a minor child with the surname Murphrey which may indicate that Jessee's wife may have been an older sister.
