John had married Martha by 1811 when they sold land to Bacon Bowers. This couple are identified as heirs of Johnson in an 1815 deed where they were located in Deerfield, Cumberland County.A power of attorney from his widow Martha Reeves to Alexander Sutherland from 1821 states that John died between 28 Sep 1815 and the date of the deed (8 Mar 1821). She was left as widow and his administrator. He died intestate. Martha was still living in Cumberland and the power of attorney concerned lands in Trumbull County, Ohio which John was to inherit from his father Johnson.
On 4 Oct 1825, administration for Martha's estate was granted to Johnson Reeves of Cumberland County.
