Reeves, 27, GA; Missouri A., 29, GA; William E., 8, AL; Martha E., 4, AL; Hyram T., 1, AL; Martha Wade, 75, SC; Missouri Jester, 13, GA. The family was in Blount Co., AL, in 1880, HH 61/69: John M. Reeves, 36, GA/TN/GA; M. Ann, 40, Wife, GA/VA/VA; W. Edward, 18, AL; H. Thomas, 11, AL; L. Frances, 10, female, AL; Arkansas M., 6, AL; James A., 1, AL.
Son Hiram's death certificate states that the mother was Missouri Wade.
John may be buried in the Ledbetter Cemetery, New Hope, Hardin County, Tennessee where his son Hiram is.
John was in the 38th Alabama Infantry during the Civil War. In his Tennessee Pension record from November 1905, he was residing in Crump, Hardin County, Tennessee. He stated he was born in "Trupe" County, Georgia in 1842. He also stated that his wife had died eight years before and that of living children he had two boys and two girls. He had resided in Tennessee "7 years last Feb."

One William A. Reeves married Elizabeth Shaw in Coweta Co., GA, in 1840. They were enumerated in Coosa Co., AL, in 1850; in Talladega Co., AL, in 1860; in Jackson Co., AL, in 1870; and in Jackson Co., AL, in 1880. He was born about 1815 in TN. In 1850, William and Elizabeth had a 7-year-old son named John M. Reeves, born in GA. Other children were Joseph, Sarah, and Eliza.
The 7-year-old son John M. Reeves may be the individual discussed here, especially since in 1880 John M. Reeves indicated that his father was born in TN.
