Genealogist Harry Clifford Campion, Jr. (1878 - 1945) sent a letter to a Mrs. H. Elton Burch in which he relates the contents of a letter he received from John S. Reeves (the son) dated 19 Feb 1918. John S. Reeves, Jr. states the following:

My father was John S. Reeves, my mother, Hannah Zane. My brothers and sisters are as follows: Philip S., born January 5, 1942 (sic), married Rebecca Robberson, November 13, 1869 and is deceased; Belle S, Reeves, born January 15, 1944 (sic), is living, married January 4, 1870, Jesse Andrews, deceased; John S. Reeves, born August 11, 1846, (the writer) married July 2, 1878, Harriet Brooks, who died January 29, 1916; William Reeves, born October 14, 1848, living, married April, 14, 1872, Emma Ridgway; Joseph, born March 12, 1851, still living, married April 6, 1884, Sarah Fried; James, born October 9, 1854, died July 6, 1885; then Elizabeth, born May 20, 1856, died May 8, 1873 (both the above children are buried beside their parents in the Methodist churchyard at Alloways); Samuel, born November 9, 1859, then living, unmarried, at Alloways Creek; Stephen, born April 16, 1860, died 1911; Hannah, born January 5, 1864, still living, married to March 12, 1887, Edward Smith.
