Josiah and Cynthia seem to have been childless. They were enumerated in Carroll Co., GA, in 1850 with no children. The 1860 Carroll Co., GA, census showed them with three Hayes and Stephenson children. The 1870 Carroll Co., GA, census showed them with three Hayes, Blair, and Baker youths aged 16 to 25.
Josiah Reeves enlisted in Company F, of the Georgia 23rd Infantry Regiment of the CSA on 31 Aug 1861. He was promoted to Full 3rd Sargeant on 01 Apr 1864.
After Josiah's death, Cynthia Scoggins Reeves moved to Farmersville, Chattooga Co., GA, where she died about 1902. She is buried in the Farmersville Cemetery with members of the Scoggins and Barron families.
