Research Notes
This individual may not exist. In the 1850 census there are listed two children in the household of James M. Reeves: John (age 7) and Littleton (age 2). However, in the 1860 census, while "J Childers" appears age 19 and is thus revealed to be Mary's child but not John's, the eldest Reeves child is "L Reeves" age 12. Therefore "L" would be the same child as "Littleton" from the 1850 census. And in 1870, the eldest child in the household is "Laughton Reaves" whose full name is later revealed as Thomas Lofton Reeves. Therefore the reference to Littleton on the 1850 census appears to be to Thomas Lofton Reeves under an incorrect name. This was formerly thought to be the Littleberry Reeves who appears in Jackson County, Georgia with wife Sarah (King) and child John W. Reeves. However, that Littleton may be the Littleton who appears in the household of Frederick Reeve(s) in Walker County, Georgia and DeKalb County, Alabama previously. Further research is needed to establish this.
