Narrative

Louisa Reeves, the daughter of Henry Reeves and Jane (nee MNU), was baptised along with her brother Charles Barnard REEVES at the parish church of All Saints, Dibden on 14 August 1814. Her father Henry is presumed deceased prior to 27 May 1828, when her mother Jane marries William Payne, the father of her half-sister Jane Payne.

At the time of the 1841 census on 7 June, Louisa is a female servant in the household of Rebekah DAVIS in Marchwood, Hampshire. Her age is given as 25 and she was born within the county.

On the 1851 census Louisa and Jane are found in the same household, again headed by Rebecca (sic) DAVIS, in Marchwood.

Louisa has yet to be identified on the 1861 census.

Between 1871 and 1901, Jane and Louisa are living together at 3 Liverpool Street in the St Mary's area of Southampton, Hampshire. On each census, Jane is listed as head of household and is the keeper/proprietor of a Toy Shop. Louisa is variously shown as her sister or half-sister.

On the 1871 census Louisa's occupation is shown as "Land and House Owner", later returns simply note her as "Living on own Means".

On the 1871 census Louisa is listed as "Louisa B Reeves" and a decade later as "Louisa Barnard REEVES" and reverting to simply "Louisa B REEVES" in 1891 and 1901.

FreeBMD has a death registration in the September quarter of 1901 in Southampton Registration District in the name of Louisa Barnard REEVES age 87.
